Falguni Mukhopadhyay

ফাল্গুনী মুখোপাধ্যায়


Falguni Mukhopadhyay was born on March 7, 1904 in the district of Birbhum, west Bengal. His real name was Tarapada and he was the editor of a monthly magazine, named ‘Bangalakshmi’. His two famous novels, ‘Chita Borniman’ and ‘Shapmochan’ took him to the zenith of success. His novel ‘Shapmochan’ was later adapted into a Bengali film with the same name in 1955. His writings not only showcased simple human lives, but also brought a sense of calmness that is unique. Besides illustrating simple lifestyle, he also wrote adventurous novels for teenagers. His notable literary pieces are ‘Ashar Chholone Vuli’, ‘Bornikonya’, ‘Mirar Bondhua’, ‘Mon o Moyuri’, ‘Choron Dilam Rangaye’, etc. He was died on April 25, 1975.
