Munir Chowdhury was a Bangladeshi writer, political activist and academician. He was born in Manikganj, Bangladesh in 1925. His academic degrees and careers revolved around Aligarh Muslim University, the University of Dhaka and Harvard University. Some of his literary works are 'Kobor', 'Chithi', 'Raktakto Prantor' and many more. He had been involved with the Bengali Language Movement, which took place in 1952. He received 'Independence Day Award', 'Bangla Academy Literary Award', 'Sitara-i-imtiaz' etc. He was killed by the Pakistani Army during Bangladesh Liberation war in 1971.
