Shahriyar Kabir is a distinguished author, journalist and human right activist of Bangladesh. He was born in Feni district of Chittagong of present Bangladesh in 1950. His whole life has been revolved around human rights and Bangladesh Liberation War. Post war of Independence of Bangladesh, Kabir started his writing career with ‘Daily Bangla’ and ‘Weekly Bichitra’. Most of writings are based on various aspects and tragedies of the war. His important literary works are ‘Puber Surjo’, ‘Ekatturer Jishu’, ‘Simante Sanghat’, ‘Michhiler Akjon’, ‘Bangladeshe Moulobad O Sangkhaloghhu Samprodye’, ‘Pakistan Theke Phirey’, ‘Bangladeshe Manobadhikar O Shamprodayekota’ and many others. He has been honored with prestigious ‘Bangla Academy Literary Award’ in 1995.
